Susan's Famous (And Super Easy) Sangria Recipe

This is my favorite, year-round crowd pleaser for a sangria recipe that tastes delicious and expensive like it’s being served at a bottomless LA brunch bar. It’s seriously SO good. It’s my mama’s recipe, and if you were at our wedding, you know this was our signature drink that we had flowing and keeping the party going all night long.

I love making a big pitcher for holiday parties or even to serve by the pool in the summer.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 bottle of the brand of your choice

    • NOTE: You’ll use some brandy for drunken fruit, and then 1/3 cup of brandy per bottle of wine you’ll use

  • 2 bottles of cheap red wine or bottled sangria (depending on how many people you are serving. Think 4-6 people per bottle).

    • NOTE: We prefer either Boone’s Farm or Barefoot Cellar’s sangria

  • Assorted fruit (pick any combination - or all - from the list below)

    • Oranges (sliced into circles)

    • Lemon (sliced into circles or wedges)

    • Lime (sliced into circles or wedges)

    • Apples (cubed)

    • Nectarines

    • Cherries

  • Sprite (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a glass bowl or tupperware, add in your chopped fruit and enough brandy to cover your fruit. Put in the freezer or refrigerator overnight.

  2. When you’re ready to serve, combine cheap red wine or bottled sangria, brandy, and drunken fruit into a pitcher and serve over ice!

  3. We leave the Sprite out for people to add themselves if they want to.
