Half Bath Makeover: Transforming Our Builder Grade Bathroom To A Modern and Chic Powder Room

We moved into our new home in July 2019 and we LOVE it. It was built in the 1970s, but the woman who lived in it left the house to her son who is a general contractor. He gutted the inside and transformed the old home into a totally blank canvas for a new family to move into.

It is perfect for us because it really gives us endless options of what we wanted to customize. The color palette was extremely neutral, and everything was basic and builder-grade.

I knew I wanted to update and modernize the home, but I wanted to do the room that would have the most impact on a budget first — so I tacked the half bathroom (or powder bath) off the kitchen on the main floor.

PAINT COLOR:

I get so many messages asking about this paint color because in the original blog post I forgot to link it! Here it is: Valspar Cobalt Cannon!
